Diarmuid Gavin

At BBC Gardeners World Live in 2006, when I designed and built my first show garden, Diarmuid Gavin said he thought I was bordering on Genius or Insanity! Glad he said Genius and not the other way.

Cherie Blair

came to see the Labyrinth and asked what the difference is between a maze and a labyrinth as her son Leo wanted to know?

Michael Parkinson

Had a Rose named after him at the show and we found him looking round so interviewed him with BBC Look North.

RHS Medals

For my design efforts I have earned two Royal horticultural Society Silver Medals in 2006 and 2009 plus the only gardeners World Live peoples vote for best show garden that's ever been given. - Its not bad within the first three years of working for myself!

Show Gardens

Chelsea 2012 - The Wire Studio - Laura Antebi

This year instead of a show garden I have been commissioned by Laura Antebi to design a planting scheme around her sculptures which are just fantastic. Laura's website is: www.thewirestudio.co.uk and as soon as I have more info I will be adding it to my website.

BBC Gardeners World Live 2009 - A World Outside the Classroom

This show garden in 2009 was designed by myself  and Victoriana Nurseries and built by myself and Paul Finnis Landscaping to show what's possible in a school environment on a tight budget. The raised beds are simply timber, benches and a potting shed / greenhouse. After the show the whole garden was lifted and taken back to Leys farm Junior School in Bottesford, North Lincolnshire where we rebuilt it in its entirety.

We won another Royal Horticultural Society Silver medal plus the gardeners world peoples vote for best in show. Joe Swift visited our garden more than once and Ainsley Harriot was kind enough to be interviewed by BBC Look North.

BBC Gardeners World Live 2006 - The Labyrinth

This was the worlds largest ever "Show Garden" and I designed it and built it within my first year of trading as "Simply Gardening". It was a massive undertaking and special thanks goes to Paul Finnis Landscaping Ian & Jake Tipler, Laburnum Landscaping, Clark Construction who worked very hard to make it all possible. Suppliers Dutch Imports and Time Circles made our show garden special with ironwork and standing stones.

The title of worlds largest show garden still stands today and at 1100m2 it may be a few years before something of this size is ever attempted again. We won a Royal Horticultural Society Silver Medal and the respect of many other show goers including Diarmuid Gavin, Alan Titchmarsh, Monty Don, Joe Swift, Michael Parkinson and Cherie Blair.
