Compost and
wood chippings |

|
We are extremely environmentally
conscious of the responsibilities that
we have as professional gardeners.
So much so that we have started our own
"Wind row" composting and in approx.
nine months time will have a rich,
organically produced compost that is
from all our customers green waste.
This compost not only enriches the soil,
but it helps to retain water and gives
plants a great boost in some of the
nutrient deficient soils that we have in
our gardens. |

|
All the wooded
garden material that we produce from customers gardens is either chipped on
site back into the borders or chipped, stored and is available for sale at
up to 3 cubic meters at a time.
The chipper
pictured above produces a lovely natural mixture of many things that include
bark, wood, leaves that are from fines to 10mm in size and this works very well
in suppressing weeds and retaining water in borders. |

Simply Gardening Tips
Soil and Mulch Ph Value?

We are often asked the question:
"does pine needles and oak leaves make
the soil acid if they are used as mulch"
Well a few years ago we would of said
yes, but the latest tests show that as
the needles and leaves breakdown the Ph
value changes to alkaline and the Ph
value of the soil stays the same.
So no need to worry, any waste /
chippings can be used to mulch your
garden!
