Simply Gardening for Schools CIC
John has set up a new venture in 2008 called
Simply Gardening for Schools and is a none profit making company
that's building school gardens, training teachers how
to teach children using horticulture and is opening the classroom up
to the outside world and teaching through practical learning.
Our
friend Ed balls wrote to us just before we built the show garden
this year in June. As you will know Ed is the secretary of state and
also education. Click on the letter to see the full extent of our
support.

Presently
we have schools in Hull, East Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, Norfolk,
North Lincolnshire and North East Lincolnshire of whom we are
working with on various levels from design and build to full blown
gardening clubs.
Below is
a basic package to get you started.
The Process (7 easy steps)
-
We view the
area, photograph and decide on a garden theme, with the many
ideas we have.
-
A fee is
agreed to take the project further.
-
A design in
2D & 3D is drawn.
-
Curriculum
links are given for the type of garden we have designed.
-
A full
description of the garden and intended use will be written.
-
A budget
will be completed for all the works to be done by our
recommended award winning landscaper.
-
We then
engage the council to help find the funding for the project. We
add your project to our website and raise the local awareness of
what you are looking to do within your school garden.

Here are the school
council at Bowmandale school in Barton upon Humber planting a new variety of spring Tulip
bulb. Pictured below is how they turned out!
