Lincolnshire
Three
projects to date, the first being "The
quiet area" in 2006, then "The science
area" in 2007 and lastly bulb planting
ready for the spring of 2008.
The Quiet Area.

The school
council had been trying for 3 years to
have a quiet area build adjacent to
their playground for small talk and
reading at play times so on contacting
me the projects began.
The design
was of two pathways crossing in the
middle with two oval patios on the end
of them. One patio would be in full sun
and the other in full shade and both
would look like snakes in the grass.
The Science Area.

A science
area to study mini beasts and the
weather, feed birds and attract wildlife
to the garden.
Three
circles of coloured concrete were laid
to represent H2O with pathways between
them. Upside down wooden poles were
concreted in to the ground to frame the
area and add colour looking like
pencils.

Bird
tables were donated to the project,
Buddleia and Rudbeckia planted and a
weather station with a RF link back to
the school.

This is always a
massive hit with the children as its easy for them to do. In just
four hours the children's council and I planted 2000 tulip bulbs
ready for the spring of 2008, this was going to add colour to their
areas next to the play ground!
